Just wanted to report that a takahop confirmed signup on 6 APR 09 didn't make it onto the list at Charleston AFB as of today (16 APR 09). Pax rep said to bring in the takahop.org confirmation printout and they would backdate it for me. Email cc to CAFB was spacea@charleston.af.mil. Is this still a good address? Thanks for the service.
That is indeed the e-mail address that Takeahop uses for Charleston.

E-mail isn't 100% reliable, as you probably know and there's really no way to determine what happened it your exact case. E-mails normally arrive there without any problems.

But you did the right thing to satisify your concern; you contacted the terminal. Even that isn't really necessary, though. Most people just print out a copy of the signup (which will have the locations and the date/time of transmission) and will have it with them when they arrive at the terminal(s). I don't know of a single terminal that doesn't honor such printouts.
There IS a glitch at the Charleston AFB. I signed up via Takeahop for CAFB on July 25,'09. Several days before my desired flight. I called CAFB and discovered that I was not on the list. I was informed by the Airman to just bring my Takeahop email cc and they would back-date my registration. Thinking all was fine, I arrived on August 16 to fly to Ramstein and, as mentioned, my name was not on the list. After explaining to another Airman and showing my Takeahop cc, he said I would be #23 on a 54 seat flight assuring me that my wife and I would be on the flight. Passengers were called. Although seeing a number of passengers move through out processing, I still felt comfortable that we would eventually be called. NOT. I checked with the the desk personnel (another Airman) and discovered that first Airman did not back-date my registration. Either he erroneously filled out the form or the computer defaulted to the present date to prevent improper back dating.

This comedy of errors could have been prevented had the CAFB registration accepted the Takeahop email cc. After filling out the Takeahop form, the information is sent to an AutoForwarder and cc'ed to CAFB. The CAFB does not accept cc's. I recommend to all not to use Takeahop when registering for CAFB--it doesn't work.

Clearly, Takeahop is a wonderful service, but this connection with CAFB needs to be fixed.
